Also, she only felt a little bad when she said things like ZRAEL HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO ALLY WITH US in those times... but now that it's kind of passed, she's disappointed she can't seem to get anything afoot with an alliance.
AND THEN WE HAVE GOD,
GOD HAS SUCH A GREEEEEAT FONDNESS FOR MAN☆EATER!! It comes in part because they are ~originals~, but also it's very important to note, as I'm sure you can figure out anyway, that God only really cares for people who tolerate her bullshit or feed into it... and he totally indulges her. She's also like a goldfish, so if he were to ever annoy her she'd totally erase it from her memory (so to speak) because all that matters is that Man☆Eater is there to lift her when she needs to be reminded that she's awesome and godly and etc.
STILL, she does actually respect him. I think out of everyone on ZRAEL right now, he's the one whose opinion she'd respect the most. Hell, I think she trusts him the most?? LIKE, GOD HAS NO INTENTION OF SHARING HER REAL NAME OR ADMIT TO ANY OF THE TRUTH BEHIND HER LIES, but if it came down to it and she had to tell One Person, it'd be Man☆Eater yeah.
So as much as she is all OOH AAH MY BELOVED FOLLOWER!! and seeing appeal in him because he goes along with her tomfoolery, she's also like......... close to considering him a friend. The distance and time apart, and with Red and Lace being gone, makes her want to be closer to him, too. Geez, God is so bad at people. So bad. But she can have sentimentality!

It's still funny to me how Silence enjoyed Dva's presence immensely when they were doing motorcycle things together... then we take the motorcycle out of the picture and instead Silence just becomes overwhelmed and easily annoyed by her. I'M SORRY, DVA, THIS GIRL ONLY LIKES U FOR UR MAD SKILL!! Okay, that's not true—Silence just doesn't know what to do with touchy chatty people and sometimes she's just overloaded (ha ha) when Dva is going on and on, or during the times she tried to get cozy with her. Silence did try her best to hide her annoyance, because she was forcing herself to be patient because she was in GOTTA MAKE FRIENDS SO FIN STOPS DYING mode.
BUT ALSO... SHE DOES LIKE DVA. I just realized this paragraph was making it sound like she doesn't like Dva, SILENCE IS LIKE THIS WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE: she gets easily annoyed by them but would admit she enjoys their presence anyway. She trusts her and values her sincerity and protectiveness! Especially after ViewScream and when she gave her the COOL ASS HATER SHADES with MEANING! It's kind of like biting into a delicious strawberry, but then the next day the strawberries are moldy so you avoid them, then you grab a strawberry and then that strawberry ISN'T moldy. But you still wonder if it'll be moldy. THIS IS KINDA SILENCE AND DVA?? Silence expects her to be annoying and clingy, but then it turns out she's not this time, and then the next time she talks to her Silence is like AW DANG HERE SHE IS GETTING ON MY NERVES AGAIN. You're a bit unpredictable, Dva! But, it's not so bad.
SONG thinks Dva is very cool and actually enjoys her for the reasons that Silence doesn't! WAY LESS TO SAY ON THIS FRONT, but that sums it up pretty concisely. I don't want to jump any conclusions until we kind of wrap up the movie thread (which I need to pick up oops) but I'd say she could come out really looking up to Dva!

...okay, maybe not that dramatic, Silence isn't actually as frustrated with her as she used to be, but I still wanted to doodle that monstrosity because there's some truth to it. Erika is getting easier to talk to each time, and Silence does enjoy her presence—MOST OF THE TIME. I feel like I need to use a "how much can Silence tolerate you" scale for everyone, goodness... let's say on a scale of 1 "god you are horrible to deal with" and 10 "i could spend an entire day with you," Erika is up to...... a 3? 3.5? Not quite in the "generally tolerable" zone of a 5, but not a 1 anymore either. (That said, I think very few people would be any higher than a 7, so, I mean, maybe skew it that way.)
Unsurprisingly, Silence values Erika incredibly so during games and respects her the most in those times. On a funny (to me??) note, Silence WILL argue with her, but doesn't actually look forward to it because she isn't very good at it. Specifically, it's hard for her to have a Side at times because this girl is still forcing herself to be decisive even when she's feeling unsure, which is a little frustrating and stressful. SO WHEN SHE TOOK ERIKA OUTSIDE TO ARGUE ABOUT MEDUSA SAYING DUMB SHIT, SILENCE WAS MOSTLY JUST USING IT TO TELL ERIKA OFF and knew that what she was trying to argue wasn't really worth arguing. She would still argue with her though BECAUSE IF ARGUING AND SLIDING IN HER FRUSTRATIONS WITH HER IS WHAT IT'LL TAKE, THEN FINE!!
So to sum it up, Silence is not trying to find friendship in Erika, but she sees her as such an asset to the unit! And otherwise does look forward to her, sometimes.
Meanwhile, Song is unnerved by Erika and is kind of terrified of her. Song could be all OH ERIKA IS THE GRUMPY AUNT OF THE FAMILY! then turn around and see Erika and duck her head hoping she didn't hear her.

GOD IS GOOD!! She came back at a time where the loneliness of being the only original ☆ZRAEL left was starting to hit him, so her presence alone automatically improved his emotional state 500%. They're not really "emotionally close," but her just being around and being her bombastic self is all he needs.
I think Man☆Eater once said to Whisky re: God that "she lifts the mood of any room she's in because it's impossible to take anything too seriously when she's around" (or something close to that) and that's a good summary of his feelings on her. God is one of the least complicated people he knows, and during a time when everything in his life is full of complicated feelings, it's a refreshing change of pace. He knows she's full of shit and sees her as... functionally useless, but damn if she isn't fun, so he'll happily indulge her bullshit all day. 10/10 would get on a stage and rant like a lunatic for half an hour and then conquer the world with this woman

But especially around Maki-live time, Silence was actually trying to BE PROACTIVE and BUILD A STRATEGY and also listened to Erika explain why friendship was not going to save them and was logical about it, so Erika's opinion of her improved dramatically. She's still not sure Silence is... smart... or any particular challenge to her, which is why she ranks below Intensity, but she does at least like her personality-wise a bit more.
MEANWHILE... Erika does not care for Song at all. In either sense of that phrase. Erika already has a very negative opinion of alternate personalities for spoiler canon reasons, and then Song being nice and naive is just the nail in the coffin. Erika prefers to not think of her as a person at all. Hm.

I reread older threads the other day, and while Silence tells everyone ELSE that she considers Eclipse a friend, Iiiii don't thiiiiiink she has told him to his face that she thinks of him as a friend? UNLESS I MISSED IT, which is surprising! Because she should have told him by now! So guess what, she's going to tell him.
Then we have his kerfluffle with HSS.
Silence supports Eclipse because she still thinks its fucked that HSS gave more than they took without thinking enough about their own survival, and even brushed off Eclipse's opinion. She likes HSS... but it's frustrating for her to realize that he's struggling with his unit. Silence looks at FiN and realizes she has it Really Good. ANYWAY, I WON'T GO ON TOO MUCH BC I WANNA TAG THAT THREAD AND PLAY INSTEAD OF MAKING HYPOTHETICAL... but she firmly believes Eclipse deserves a unit he can trust, who can trust him, and she still wants to believe they still appreciate him. THIS SOUNDS FAKE, ECLIPSE! THERE'S NO WAY...!

they really should do more motorcycle stuff or just crazy stuff in general, because d.va absolutely lives for that shit. but if either of them haven't been able to tell she can be serious when it's needed like post viewscream or when she told song about the armor. she has a lot of issues that she hides behind her smile and she always tries to keep her "idol" personality up, because she's just kind of used to doing that. but d.va also knows she gets on people's nerves for, well, just about everything, but she doesn't really let that bother her too much and if someone says something then she sometimes checks herself. it depends. she's checking herself for you, silence, BECAUSE WE'RE FRIENDS.
and aw ;; song is adorable and if she did end up looking up to her she'd try harder to be a good role model. she wants to get to know them both better, especially now that she knows a little more about what they like. the experiment / movie thread is definitely one of my favorites. everybody is so cute there! but to wrap this up d.va definitely enjoys both of their company for different reasons. she gets the both of best worlds!
